Good tea deserves
a shorter distance.

Matcha powder in a ceramic bowl, ready to be whisked.
One bowl. A world of care.

Not just where tea comes from.
Everything it takes to get here.

Matdori sources directly from gardens and mills in Japan, imports under its own name, and brings Japanese tea to cafés, restaurants and partners across the United States.

Through Ocha Club, we connect that work to the people who pour it. Fewer handoffs. A clearer conversation. A better everyday cup.

Our approach

02 / The tea collection

A character
for every cup.

Three expressions of Japanese tea.
One thoughtful place to begin.

Find the right tea

Tea photographs are illustrative, not current product lots. Ask us about available selections.

Ask about samples
About matcha

Stone-milled tea for whisked service, lattes and pastry. Tell us how you plan to use it so we can discuss the appropriate selection.

About sencha

A steamed Japanese leaf tea with a bright, green character. Ask us about available selections for hot and cold service.

About hojicha

Roasted Japanese tea with a toasty character. Ask us about available formats, flavor profiles and suitability for your menu.

03 / The way we work

The long way
is the right way.

Tea is the beginning. The relationships,
the care, the follow-through — that is our work.

01

At the garden.

We buy directly from gardens and mills in Japan, keeping the conversation close to the people behind the tea.

02

Across the ocean.

Matdori manages the import relationship, connecting the Japanese source to our work in the United States.

03

Behind your counter.

Through Ocha Club, we supply cafés, restaurants and partners, with a conversation about the tea and the menu it is meant for.

05 / Notes from Matdori

A little closer.

A few things we return to.
At the source. At the table.

More than a place on a label.

For us, origin is the beginning of a conversation, not the end of a description. We keep the conversation close to the tea: what it is, how it is intended to be used, and which details matter to the people who will serve it.

Discuss our approach
Start with the cup you want to serve.

Tell us about the drink or dish, the ingredients you plan to use, your expected monthly volume and your timeline. When samples are available, test them in the recipe and service format you actually plan to use.

Discuss your tea program
Make a little room for tea.

A cup you enjoy and a simple way to make it. A place to put down your phone. Someone to share it with. The ritual does not need to be more complicated than that.

A café, a restaurant, a new idea.
